Sacha Jenkins, a native New Yorker, has an original creative aesthetic informed from coming of age in the throes of the cultural phenomenon of hip-hop. The accomplished director, producer, writer, musician and curator has a constant ear to the street and an inspired edge that brings a fresh vitality to all of his projects. He was awarded a fellowship at Columbia University to the Graduate School of Journalism via the National Arts Journalism Program. His creative tour-de-force background includes producing magazines (ego trip, Mass Appeal), books (Eminem’s biography The Way I Am), working as the music editor at Vibe and creating top original television programs for networks such as VH1 and MTV (ego trip/VH1’s “The White Rapper Show”). Jenkins recently directed Fresh Dressed, a documentary film about the history of hip-hop fashion that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
